This past weekend was the NY Press Association’s “Better Newspaper Contest”.
I scored my first statewide first place award. The judges had this to say:
“Great job in bringing a universal truth to a local issue.”
Here’s the winning cartoon and your daily dose of universal truth. I knew the common core was good for something.
And where’s Jimmy Stewart when we need him?
A favorite of mine from a few weeks ago. Even the editors who didn’t go to catholic school liked this one.
There’s an editor who’s waiting patiently for a Superman cartoon. Good sport that he is, he went for this Batman gag.
If we’re going to start banning offensive symbols, who gets to decide what is offensive and where do you stop? On the other hand, maybe they all should go. Imagine.
