Heinlein’s Rules

As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t get much better than a Heinlein novel. Go ahead, read Job: A Comedy of Justice or Time Enough for Love. I’ll wait.

You’re back? Good. See? How can you go wrong with a sci-fi, libertarian misogynist? (He’s not misogynistic. He’s just accused of it by those missing the point.) Anyway, I ran across these rules recently here.

Rule One: You Must Write
Rule Two: Finish What Your Start
Rule Three: You Must Refrain From Rewriting, Except to Editorial Order
Rule Four: You Must Put Your Story on the Market
Rule Five: You Must Keep it on the Market until it has Sold

They make a lot of sense for more than just writing, I think.

All new for fall

Welcome to my all-new site. I’ve repainted the fuselage and replaced everything under the hood. “Scribblings” now shows my latest work, some of it even in color. The gift shop isn’t open yet and the caterer is running late, but feel free to wander about. Remember to tip your waiter… oops, I mean the person helping with your food choices.
